So, why me, huh? I think it circles down to less of what I do, what I'm capable of, but why

honey and wildfire are both the color gold

My why. I was put on this earth for the kids who grew up like me. To inspire, and uplift people through storytelling (yours or mine hehe) so they can be inspired to go after the life they want.

Pretty big why. Pretty lofty goals. Who am I to speak on the subject? You know I'm going to tell you.

I grew up in a small, Georgia town; in a house across the street from a cemetery, down the street from goats. It was thirty minutes from everything that mattered. Both of my parents were blue-collar construction workers.

My father died when I was young.  My mom was an undiagnosed bipolar alcoholic. I know she loved me and she tried her best, but it was difficult being her daughter. When I was 16 years old, I wrote my suicide letter.

But. Something stopped me, call it divine intervention maybe? But I knew my story couldn't end there, it had to persist. I had to. For those like me.

Grit have given me the tools to push past survival. My mother passed in 2019. By my early twenties, both sets of grandparents passed. I've had two near death experiences (a fractured neck & hypothermia). It's giving drama, I. know.

Statistically speaking, I should be dead. There have been many attempts to correct the timeline, but here I am. Death makes you think. When faced with your own mortality, you can't help but think, "Why am I here?"

But you know what I think. While I'm here, I want to change the world. So let's start changing it. Together.

xoxo

walk down
memory lane with me

Memory loss is a symptom of C-PTSD. The hippocampus is one of the parts of the brain that is most affected. The hippocampus is involved in memory, learning, and emotion. It mainly holds short-term memories and transfers them to long term. Because of that, bits of my childhood are forgotten. I only have pictures that sparkle a little bit of that memory. Here are some of my favourites.
